Please HELP!

My computer recently updated to InDesign 16.0.

Now when I save my indd files, they display as .pdf files.

I am seleting InDesign 2021 in the options, to no avail.

What have I done?

Files I export as .pdfs display as .pdfs but it appears that everything I create is a .pdf.

These indd files, showing up as pdfs, will not open unless I go into InDesign and open them there.

How do I correct this?

George - I followed your directions and discovered that my .pdf extension showed Microsoft Edge as the "default".  The .indd seemed to be correct.

I've changed the .pdf to Acrobat and I'm hoping the problem has been rectified.

I will re-post if the problem persists.

Thank you so much for your assistance!!!!!!

Are you use it ID with Windows or OSX? And say your version of OS.

Actually, I save them as .indd but they show up as .pdfs -- with the .pdf icon.
