Issues with Interactive Workbooks Crashing

I created an interactive PDF using InDesign (Version 15.0.3.425) to use in a workshop. Most of the participants are using Preview to edit the workbook, but about half of them have issues where the workbook crashes and they lose their work (seems to crash at random). Does anyone have any tips on if I am doing something wrong on the InDesign side of things or if it is a Preview issue? Is there anything we can do to solve this problem?

Is the workbook a PDF Form? Maybe a screen shot might help.

Preview isn't a very good PDF viewer – can you specify Acobat Reader to the participants?

Preview does not typically support interactive features for PDF. Adobe Reader supports some things, like hyperlinks and buttons, but that's about it. As Derek asked, is this a form, or does it use some other kind of interactivity? If it's a form, you need your participants to use Adobe Reader. If your participants can't use Adobe Reader for this, and it's not a form, can you switch to a browser-based document using Publish Online? It does not support forms, but does support lots of other types of interactivity. Here are some examples: http://bit.ly/PubOnCollection
