Keep InDesign from updating the entire book when I insert a page

When I insert a new page in a chapter, either by typing or doing it manually, InDesign goes through my entire book and updates all page numbers. This takes quite some time and totally disrupts my workflow, because I have to wait mid-sentence before I can finish it. Can I force it to only do that when I save the current chapter?

The page range appears beside each document name in the Book panel. By default, InDesign updates page and section numbering in the Book panel when you add or remove pages in booked documents, or when you make changes to the book file, such as reordering, adding, or removing documents. If you turn off the setting to automatically update page and section numbers, you can update numbering in a book manually.

Thank you. Fairly straight forward, should have been kind of ovious to me...
I can live without updating the page numbers on save, but doing manually.
