Hello,
I'm really stuck with a paragraph style problem! I'm using paragraph styles to format a book. Unfortunately, once I place text from Word and apply the paragraph style, all the paragraph breaks from Word disappear. I've experimented with different import options, but it doesn't seem to make a difference - once I apply the paragraph style, breaks disappear and I'm left the world's longest paragraph.
Am I missing something in the set up of my paragraph style?
Any help would be so appreciated.
That is definitely not normal. A paragraph style can't remove paragraph breaks. The file can be corrupt (save it as .idml is the first step in toubleshooting a corrupt file: https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/troubleshoot-file-issues.html); InDesign may be having issues (see https://www.rockymountaintraining.com/adobe-indesign-resetting-preferences-and-deleting-the-cache/) or most likely, the paragraphs only look like they are running together. Can you share some screen shots (with hidden characters showing) a section of your Word file, and the same bit of text after the problem occurs in InDesign?
