Keyboard shortcut 'T' for type tool not working.

I usually hit the T key when nothing is selected to activate the type tool.

Today this stopped working.

I hit 'T' and the type tool briefly activates then switches back to whichever tool was already active.

I would try restoring your InDesign preferences:

I tried this but it didn't work.

I suspect it might be a problem with individual files because with some other documents it doesn't happen.

Or could it be a conflict with other open applications?
