When editing in InDesign 2021 keyboard keys such as Enter, backspace, up arrow, down arrow, left arrow, right arrow, ctrl z (undo), ctrl C, ctrl V do not work. Did not have this issue until I downloaded 2021. Should I have waited for the bugs to be gone? I am doing things the same way I always have and now simple actions do not function.
Ok. You are on Windows 10.
So you should be able to find preferences and also InDesign's cache folder in the following paths:
Cache folder:
[Your User Name] > AppData > Local > Adobe > InDesign > Version 16
Preferences folder
[Your User Name] > AppData > Roaming > Adobe > InDesign > Version 16
To see folder AppData at all you have to enable the view on "Hidden" or "Invisible" elements in your file system.

How does that affect my keyboard and ability to backspace, delete and return? I am looking at my preferences menu and do not see an area to reset them. Am feeling a little uneducated at the moment. Thought I knew everything about preference window, but obviously I do not.:(

Hi Timothy,
Derek did not reference the Preferences Panel in InDesign.
He pointed at the InDesign preferences in your file system that are stored in a InDesign 16 folder nested inside your User folder on your machine. What's your operating system?

To "trash" your preferences and caches simply rename the two Version 16 folders I listed above after you quit InDesign. InDesign will create new ones with fresh contents the next time it starts up.
