Most Kindles were at or near a 8:6 or, iow, a 4:3 ratio of screen height to width. But a Kindle device nowadays is more likely to be a ratio of 1.6:1. If you know your physical screen size is 6 x 9, you could design in a 3:2 ratio. An epub2 reflowable will change to fit any screen ratio.
