Lines on Text

While typing down the text, I see some lines that look like the text is being canceled out. How can I fix this issue (refer the image)

Also, just wanted to check as to how I can add various designs to my document and use HEX colors. 

I'm using a Windows laptop.

What version of Windows are you using? Are your sure that all drivers are up to date?
