When you are setting up your document and you add the interactivity to the field you add the name there.

So go to Window>Interactive>Buttons and Forms. Here you enter field type and name, etc.

If you create a PDF form and give the fields the same name you should be able to create the feature you want.

Personally, I'd sooner use MSWord for this kind of thing.

Can you explain how to give the fields the same name? New to InDesign.

Also how do you do that in MSWord?

In MSWord:

File > New Document, then Tools > Labels

Type in the delivery address, and select the labels you want from the Options drop down (e.g. Avery and the ref no.)

Then Print.

Why go to all the bother, the OP has to very carefully set up a position template for every type of label he needs in InDesign, it could take hours. Complete overkill – InDesign's not the application for this (IMO). With MSWord it can be done in a minute or two with access to hundreds of label formats.

I'm not saying that's the way to do it but he asked the question of how to name the fields..? I would agree that MSWord would be the way to go when creating labels but I guess it depends on they want to do..?

Thank you! this is exactly what I needed to know! It is a label where it is my company logo and then contact: and we just need a space where the rep could put there phone number in and then it would populate in all of the sections. so this was perfect! thank you so much!

A form field with the same name will allow one entry to repeat in all the same named fields.
