Hi.
Is it possible to put together a library (both: local and CC) with items already on assigned layers? I mean, if someone uses this library and puts one of the elements on a sheet in their document, the element will automatically be placed in the designated layer. If this layer does not exist in the document, it should be created automatically.
Is that possible?

Hi cmoke73,
that's already the case. The only thing you have to do is enable "Paste Remembers Layers" in your Layers panel.
In a German InDesign: "Ebenen beim Einfügen erhalten".

OMG.
After years of intensive use of different InDesign versions, I keep coming across new - and very helpful - functions that I was not familiar with. 🙂
Thank you!

Well, I think you can find "Paste Remembers Layers" already in InDesign CS5.
EDITED:
Looked it up in the scripting DOM documentation.
"Paste Remembers Layers" is already available in InDesign CS version 3.
