Mail merge URL to InDesign button

Using version InDesign 2020 (15.1.2) is there any way, or script available that can mail merge data into text frames but also merge data into an interactive button? I am creating a catalogue of SKUs, and it seems there is no way that the buttons can automatically be updated with URLs from the linked spreadsheet.

Has anyone any experience of doing this?

Hi UpStyleDesign,

a button state can contain a typical text frame with text.

So yes, data merge will also work with texts in a text frame of a button.

What is not supported:

A specific Got To URL Action with a hyperlink URL destination where the URL address is stored in a data merge data source like a CSV or text file.
