Metadata not pulling through in PDF from InDesign

Hi,

Just recently we've noticed that PDFs produced in CC 2020 are not embedded with our usual metadata. No title, no user and, most annoyingly, no path in the subject box. Here is a screengrab of our old output;

and this is what we are getting now;

Clearly something has changed, but what? And is it fixable?

Would appreciate your thoughts.

Sorry, newbie failure. Thank you for that.

I have the solution, for what it is worth. For some reason our presets for PDF export had slipped back to Acrobat 5 (PDF 1.4), which doesn't seem to support the feature described. By resetting our presets to Acrobat 8/9 (PDF 1.7) we seem to be back where we need to be.

Thanks everyone for your help.

Is this an Acrobat question... if not, what program are you using to create the PDF?

Hi, I believe it's an InDesign question, as InDesign used to generate the necessary metadata previously. Obviously it used to show in Acrobat, but I guess it had to come from somewhere. Sorry for the late reply, I think my cloud is playing up.

Let's move you to the Indesign forum to start with, then. I hope someone there can help with your question.

Hi Brian,

are you sure about that?

Your second screenshot with the empty title field is showing 1.7 as PDF Version.
