Multi Place and Link

Hello,

I have two questions.

I have a frame (1). I create an instance frame with the paren an link option (2). If I copy or duplicate both frames (parent and instance) after paste them, I have a new independent frame (3) and a new instance (4). However, this new instance is referrenced to frame 1 not to frame 3.

Is it possible to update the copy and paste options of the place and link for being linked to the new independent link created?

Otherwise, Is it possible to copy and paste the frames with their content but overriding the parent link?

can you show your issues with some screenshots of the text frames and also the Links panel open?

Hm. Would it help if you move formatted text from one text frame to another?

You can also do this in Layout View. Check the following option in:

Preferences > Type > Drag and Drop Text Editing

[ x ] Enable in Layout View
