My client is on a pure Windows environment with a lot of machines using indesign. But one machine can open any file on a network share, when you try to save it it crashes with an error "The network connection was lost for the file ...."

Does anyone have a fix for this, I have tried everything, I have seen a fix that for the mac but not windows. The software is fully patched.

Indesign cs6 version 8.1

Please help my client is getting a little agitated now.

Hi scottc55846462,

Please check if it saves file on the desktop? Also, you may try resetting preferences for InDesign.

Close all Adobe applications.

Go to Locations C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Adobe and C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Adobe.

Delete InDesign folders.

Launch InDesign from CC.

Regards,

Srishti

They are not using CC but CS6.

They can save to the desktop but not to shared drive whicjh is weird as it allows the to open the file from that location

Hi scottc55846462,

Please try these steps for CS6

Close all Adobe applications.

Go to Locations C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Adobe and C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Adobe.

Delete InDesign folders.

Launch InDesign CS6.

If it still does not work, try a different user account on the same machine and check how it works.

Regards,

Srishti
