Objects are locked into the software

I've been working on a software project for many months now, and suddenly I can't move objects, I can zoom in but not move. (I didn't lock anything)
What could have happened?

Typically, when you can't select an object it could be because:

1. It is on a master page and you are on a body page
2. The object is locked
3. The layer containing the object is locked
4. There is an empty frame on top of the object that you can't see (and it might be locked)

Have you ruled out all of the above?
