OS X catalina / File name highlight

Issue with Adobe Creative Cloud apps (including Indesign) and the file extension in file names or PDF exports. Old (and desired) behavior: saving or exporting file, when highlighting the name in save as field, the extension (.pdf or .indd) is not highlighted. Since the times of corona, I am working on my home machine, which is running OS X catalina (10.15.3). In all Adobe apps, the file extension is also higlighted. Hitting the right arrow key, which used to take me to the end of the file name (minus the extension) now takes me to the very end of the file name (past the extension). This is a real production killer. Anyone know if solutions are in the works or have workarounds? I see it's been called out in the PS forum, but haven't seen it here.
