Using InDesign CC 2020.
I opened a customer's InDesign file. Inside, they had pasted a logo (not linked! embedded). This logo has text which was outlined; however, upon opening the ID file the first time, the outlined text changed slightly (the letters 'i' and 'l' got wider) and our team missed this change, which resulted in a misprint and an unhappy customer.
Even weirder - this logo was pasted multiple times in the document, and the outlined text changed in the same way in every instance of the logo.
We were not able to recreate this phenomenon later.
How could this have happened? Weird glitch? Has anyone had this occur before?
That is a new one. It sounds like the graphics were all scaled a bit horizontally. Of course, you already know, but in print production, pasting while not placing is an undesirable workflow procedure.
