Part of my InDesign files are reverting to old language and pictures.

For the past year to year and a half, I have been having problems with my InDesign files. They sometimes revert portions or pages of the file to old pictures or old language. It will not revert all of it but only some parts of it. It is never consistent either. These files are saved and worked on a server. This allows users to easily share them within the office. It also prevents 2 people from working on them at 1 time.

This is creating a huge problem when we have to redo or review a 200-page document a couple more times than normal. Our deadline and quality of work become compromised. Why is this happening have you experienced this problem before?

Just a thought -- is someone in your group keeping copies of the InDesign files on their desktop, making their edits and then copying that file back to the server -- effectively erasing the edits that another user made to the file on the server?

Definitely not that.
