Hello! I'm looking for a solution to place random background images on each page. I have a folder with JPEGs and a multi-page layout. Each page should have a different image selected from the folder and put in the background. I assume this can be done with scripting, but coudn't find any good examples online. Will appreciate any guidance. Thank you!

I've written such a similar script for a client 4 years ago! …
If nobody gives you here a for free solution, you know such a script already exists! 😉

You could use Acrobat to combine your jpegs into one PDF (Tools> Combine files), then use the Place multipage PDF script in InDesign (window> Utilities> Scripts) to place the PDF. If you need to identify the images in the links panel, this won't work for you, and the script will create new pages. You could place the PDF pages manually into the bottom layer of each InDesign page, (reducing the page magnification will allow you to place several pages at a time).

I've taken a look to this old Script! Cool! (and more powerful than I thought!)

That looks like what I'm looking for. Is this script available for purchasing? Otherwise, would you mind sharing a hint on where to start from?

Thank you for your suggestion, Luke. That will work in case I'd stay with adding images manually.
