Plug in missing

Lately when i open a PDF i get an error like this: (In Dutch).

The file format may not be supported by Adobe Indesign, a plug-in for file format support is missing.

Doesn anyone know what plug in? And how to install this.

InDesign can not open pdf files and never was able to do that. You can only place pdf files over an InDesign document, open an indd file and then use File>Place and choose the pdf file to place it
