Hello, when I import a visual, when I release my computer mouse to place it on my page, the image turns into a black square. Can you help me?

Hi Claire5C46,

please show a screenshot of the visual on the page selected.

Plus the Links panel and the Layers panel showing the selected item.

What happens if you do not release your mouse when the visual is in the place gun, but if you first drag out a rectangle with the loaded cursor and then release the mouse?

Thanks,
Uwe Laubender

Could you please provide the exact version of InDesign and operating system that you are using? Also, are you using the File>Place option (the optimum way to do it) or are you possibly trying to drag and drop images from Illustrator and Photoshop?
