Problems viewing an interactive online document on iPad

I am having trouble publishing my interactive document online. I want to view it on my iPad (1st gen) but there is a problem that doesn't occur when I use my computer. The document itself looks and works just fine on the iPad but the pages load very slowly and resize every time I turn the page. For some reason, the page looks magnified for a second before it adjusts to fit the screen. There are many MSOs and hi-res images on each page so I tried lowering the resolution of my document to1280x800, but it didn't help. I am relatively new to InDesign so I was hoping that someone here could help me. Thanks in advance!

Your iPad is 10 years old running an old O/S and browser. I'm not sure what you were expecting but none of this surprises me.

I am not sure what I was expecting either, but I was hoping it would work just a bit better. Now I feel stupid haha. I get the same problem on my iPhone 8 as well, but it's not as bad.  I am going to share the document online so it is good to know that the problem is likely my old devices. Still, I am wondering how well online documents work on mobile devices in general... any thoughts?

They're pixel perfect so they'll look awful on small devices.
