I love Publish Online and use it all the time to send work to clients.

Is there a way to have Toggle Thumbnails on as default so they show automatically?

It looks much better with the row of thumbnails and I know some clients do not spot the ambiguous icon at the bottom.

And while I'm here... up the resolution please, showing business cards and small things look rubbish.

Don't know of any way to make thumbnails display the default. Might be a good feature request, though it should be an option. Not everyone (including me) wants them on all the time. You can make feature requests here: http://bit.ly/improvepublishonline

As for resultion, some images can be improved by selecting them and choosing Object menu > Object Export Options > EPUB and HTML. Set the resolution for the container to a higher res. Good write up of this here: https://indesignsecrets.com/controlling-publish-online-image-resolution.php

You can, of course, increase the resolution of the entire document by going to Advanced setting in the Publish Online dialog. If your document has a lot of images, it may slow down the load time. And if you use a lot of interactivity/animations, I have found the HiDPI setting can interfere. But I have used it on simple slide show/portfolio docs.

When I look at the thumbnails, the first MSO on pages that have MSOs is shown. Is there a way to use the base page for the thumbnail preview? I can't hide it when I publishing online because then it will be behind my page and not viewable. (Unless I make my base page a button that gets hidden when the MSO is up--but that seems a little complicated, especially in an indesign doc w/ a lot of MSOs! Any ideas?
