"File New" function in CS6 no longer works

The creation of a new document has not worked for some time. Only the workspace appears that. 
The "Document Page" is no longer displayed, no more documents will be generated.
My question: Is there a wrong basic setting here or is it a bigger problem?
Key Data: CS6 Indesign Vers. 8.1, Win 10

CS6 is not supported under either Windows 8 or Windows 10. You can try resetting your preferences and running it under Windows 7 compatibility mode but beyond that I have no suggestions other than to upgrade.
