Cannot place image files in InDesign from Bridge

I'm a Mac user so I cannot help directly. FWIW, I always use Command/Control-d when I want to place an image. 

Is that working?

I use Bridge regularly to place images into InDesign. I select images from Bridge and go to File>Place>In InDesgn. Is that what you do?

What version of InDesign? What version of Bridge? What operating system?
