retaining inch marks when importing copy from word

Is there a way to retain proper inch marks and typographer quotes when importing copy from word?

When you import, click the checkbox to "Show Import Options", and uncheck "Use Typographer's Quotes". That should leave them alone on import, but you will have to watch it when you work in ID if you have Typographer's Quotes set in your ID preferences.
