I'm working off of a laptop and whenever I run InDesign (Adobe InDesign 2020) all of my other programs freeze and InDesign doesn't freeze. InDesign does not freeze and I normally have to save the file I'm working on, close out of InDesign, and then wait a few minutes until my other programs unfreeze. Is this a known issue? Any solutions?

Hi Ashutosh -
The problem happens with all programs - usually about 15-20 minutes after I've opened my InDesign file and began working. As I mentioned, InDesign is still functional but all of my other programs - Outlook, Word, Excel, Chrome, Edge, etc freeze until after I've closed InDesign. As you can imagine, this makes working on a task quite cumbersome as I constantly need to switch from InDesign to Word, Excel, etc, to accomplish my project. On my machine are:
OS: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8665U CPU @ 1.90GHz 2.11 GHz.
RAM: 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable)
InDesign: Adobe InDesign 2020. I have an Adobe for Teams account.
I use Windows 10 Pro.
Thank you for any assistance you can provide!

Apologies for the delayed response. Thank you for sharing the information. Please try steps given below and let us know if they help:
Disclaimer: Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings and InDesign will launch with default settings. This way all your old settings will be saved in .old folders and InDesign will recreate new folders with default settings.
Perform this procedure on each of the following folders:

Hi there,
Sorry about this trouble. That's definitely not a typical experience with the application. In addition to the suggestions shared above, could you please share a screenshot from Task Manager when InDesign is running.
We’re here to help, just need more info.
Regards,
Srishti

What version of Windows 10? Are you using the interactive Bing wallpaper that changes the desktop background periodically? If so, turn that off and change it to a static background.
