Scrolling bug in InDesign (scrolls up when clicking)

When I use my trackpad to click on anything (Seletction/black arrow tool is active), InDesign will scroll up, which is completely unexpected.

It happens sporadically and sometimes stops, but I often have to quit and relaunch. I'm very careful to make sure that my hands aren't touching the trackpad in any other way (i.e. to scroll). I've never experienced anything like this before.

Has anyone else experienced uncontrollable scrolling within InDesign? What have you done do resolve this issue, if anything?

Using InDesign 16.2.1 on a MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2019), running macOS Catalina 10.15.7
