I was wondering if there is a way to search for a specific record after performing a data merge with multiple records. We have created a mutual fund report template that looks beautiful, and when the preview box is checked, I can scroll through all the records (and even choose a specific record number) perfectly. I love this.
However, what if I wanted to look up a specific record by its ticker symbol, as opposed to scrolling through each individual record until I find it? If I'm looking for Fidelity Contrafund, I'd like to be able to plug "FCNTX" into a box and have the report fill based on that. Again, I know I can choose a record NUMBER as I'm scrolling through, but can those record numbers be defined using a text input instead of relying on a row number from the source file?
Does this make sense?
