«Spinning wheel» in the middle of a work: how to abort without losing the last changes?

Here, ID shows the spinning wheel two/three times in the day in the most unpredictable situations: copy/paste, moving objects, etc.

It is no way to wait. A lot of minutes and never ceases the rotation...

User is obliged to force quit:

how to avoid not losing the last work before aborting?

It only happens in ID...

When working for some time on an InDesign document it's important to occasionally do a "Save As" and incrementally rename your file (name1a.indd, name1b.indd and so on) so as to clear out the crud that builds up and courses corruption. And of course back regular back up copies externally so you can access your work should something happen to your computer.

The other thing, you need at least 16GB of RAM.

If the spinning wheel is happening regularly, for no apparent reason, try resetting your InDesign preferences to see if that helps.

Thanks.

Basically it happens in copy/paste operations.

The point is that the spinning wheel never stops.

My question was related to find a method to abort in safe mode to preserve last changes

Force quit ID / restart the machine... etc.

Found this article but don't know if it is related to iD.
