Hello,
Here is the issue I am having. I currently have a listing, on one side it has locations on the other it has the project name. It is currently all in one textbox and it was simply just tabbed over to give the illusion of columns. Well now the client wants to have the project name first and location second, is there anyway I can split this textbox into two. Basicallly like if you were to divide a shape in half in Illustrator. Any help would be great.
You can make the text box 2 colums - cmd/cnt b - I remember the shortcut as I think to "modify the box" - this will bring up your text box options and you can make it 2 colums.
You can also try this Find/Change GREP workaround:
Find what:
^(.+)\t+(.+)
Change to:
$2\t$1
What does that do?
Search for anything (1) at the beginning of the paragraph + tab + anything (2), then it will replace with anything (2) + tab + anything 2.
You can also convert the tabbed text in table, then switch the column order and converting back the table in text.
If GREP is intimidating you could convert your text to a table. Add a column and copy column one into column three then delete column one. Finally convert the table back to text.
