Stroke panel not showing options

When selecting an object with a stroke I go to edit it in the Strokes Panel but nothing is there. The "Show Options" is grayed out so I am not able to click that. What can I do to get the stroke options back? I've tried different documents and it still does not work.

Did you try clicking the up/down triangles in front of the word Stroke on the tab?

If that doesn't do it, it's on to rebuilding preferences/cache.
