Thanks for reaching out. It is possible that other applications on your computer are also using these keyboard shortcuts and are superseding the Adobe program's usage of them. Try rebooting your computer and only opening InDesign and see if the shortcuts then work. If this does turn out to be the problem it is possible to change the shortcuts in InDesign using the "Keyboard Shortcuts" option under the Edit menu.
**Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings and InDesign will launch with default settings. You can also take a backup of the folders in case you want to. Location is mentioned in the article.
i got the same problem as Vanessa. I tried to delete the preferences from my mac, but there are no indesign preferences, just from other adobe applications. second i tried to reset preferences with shortcuts on restart, but the dialogue doesnt show. what can i do?``
Sorry to hear about your experience. If you are not getting option to reset preferences in InDesign using keyboard shortcuts. Please follow the instructions below and let us know if it helps:
Close all adobe applications
Go to Locations:
Rename Adobe InDesign and com.adobe.indesign to Adobe InDesign.old and com.adobe.indesign.old
Launch InDesign from the CC
**Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings and InDesign will launch with default settings. This way all your old settings will be saved in .old folders and InDesign will recreate new folders with default settings.
