A file shows 0 errors on one laptop and 8 errors (text frame) on the other, although the same version of InDesign 15.0.03 is used. Checked already everything, including software language (one version is English, the other German). Made several deinstallation/installation, but....

First, I would check to make sure that the exact same preflight profiles are being used on both systems. The issue could be that simple.

Also, I would check to see what those errors are and if they actually need attention. You may find that unexpected issues crop up as you move from one system to the next — e.g. while the type for both systems show the same type spec, a random paragraph end space is not, text frame specs have somehow changed, etc.

Are you having this issue with just one document? Or with multiple/any documents? It may not be InDesign which is the problem per se, you may just find the differences are somehow buried in your InDesign document.

Hope this helps,

Randy

Hi Roberta,

what does the Preflight exactly tell you?

Are some fonts perhaps missing on the machine?

FWIW: One could include a preflight profile with a document.

But you also have to check, that the included profile is used with InDesign.

Uwe Laubender

Regarding the text frame errors is it possible to be more specific as to exactly what those errors with the frames are? Is it possible that the errors might refer to overset text within those frames? If so then given that you are using the same file with two different languages it seems likely that differences with the basic paragraph styles would occur. This could certainly cause text reflow that would lead to overset errors. You can compare the basic paragraph styles in the Paragraph Syles Panel.

As everyone stated above, we need to know what the errors are?

If it's missing images and fonts, did you Package your InDesign layout before moving it to your other computer? If not, this could be the problem. It would be no great surprize that these elements are missing on a different computer.
