Dear All,
I have created a running head for chapters. The problem is that it ignores the characters styles that were applied to some of words.
I understand that there is no way to ask it to keep the character style.
It's a very long book book with 40+ chapters and I don't want to create master page for each one of them... nor to do it manually.
Any suggestion for a workaround?
Good week,
Shlomit

Hi Shlomit,
the only workaround I can think of is to do a couple of text variables where currently there is only one.
One text variable for every style change. If that's possible at all.
As you already know:
One text variable instance is considered as one single character in the text.

Uwe

The other "workaround" would be to use a paragraph style with GREP Styles for the running headers, if you can see a pattern for GREP Styles with the desired formatting. And after the layout is finished convert the text variable instances to plain text so that the GREP Styles apply the right character styles.
Regards,
Uwe

Dear Uwe, yes I know, which is why I was asking for a workaround. I don't thing I can use Grep, as there is no specific pattern.
