TOC Numbering Issue in InDesign Pages out of Order

I created a file in InDesign. I created a TOC. I then added four pages to the beginning of my document. I updated my TOC and the TOC numbers all pages consecutively, but places the first four pages at the end of the TOC. How do I fix this? Is this a bug from the latest update?InDesign TOC Numbering Issue.png

Hi Beth,

hm. Could be a bug of course. But it would be hard to detect what exactly causes it.

It could help if you still have the version of your document before you added the pages and did the update of the TOC.

As far as I understood this project is a one document one and not a book file with several InDesign files organized?

Did you create the TOC with a custom named TOC Style?

Then I would suggest to do a new TOC Style and do another TOC with that.

Thank you for your prompt response. It is one document (not a book). I do
have a version of the document before I added the pages and TOC.

I have attached it. Please treat this document as confidential. Any help
you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi Beth,

all attachments are stripped from answers by mail.

If I should treat your test documents as confidential, then put the files on Dropbox or a similar service.

Do not post a download link here in the forum.

Instead click my name and use button "Send a message".

That would create a private message where you can post the download link.

Refer to this thread here with an URL as well.

Thanks,
Uwe Laubender
