I have a recipe TOC with >Chapter Start >Recipe. All works great. I need several recipes to appear twice in the TOC. For example “Beef with sticky Rice”. I require this page to appear under the RICE heading and the BEEF heading.
For that to work with a TOC you'd need to have that heading in Chapter 2.
You might want to consider using Cross References to make your Table of Contents.
I'd say you could add a cross reference only for the 2. Rice > Beef with stick Rice p1
But if you update your TOC you'll lose it.
Creating the TOC from scratch using Cross References should work.
But will have it's issues too.

Yes, index is the way to go.
Thank you both for a swift response. Great suggestion, it is a solution although I will have to investigate the formatting. I have 300+ entries though; this will mean accessing the cross reference dialogue box for every entry. I am probably missing something, is there a more automated method of entry. Cheers Garry. p.s. running CS4
As mentioned, creating an index is probably the best way forward.
