Tools Defaulting to Gradient Fills, Lines

I'm using InDesign CC 2019 on an iMac running Catalina. When I draw a box using the Rectangle Tool, or a line using the Line Tool, the fill on the box and the line are a gradient even though I select a solid color in the Color Palette. Can someone tell me what's happening and how to fix it? This just started a few days ago.

Thanks,

Lloyd

Hi Lloyd,

did you do a new custom object style as default perhaps?

Can you show the Object Styles panel when no document is open, also the Swatches panel, and the Object Styles panel when that specific document is open where you are seeing this issue?

Uwe,

D'oh! An object style was being applied to both. I selected "None" and everything was back to normal. Thanks for slapping me straight!
