Slow, very slow, is... pufff. I tried to increase the speed, enable quick preview (low quality view) .. disable check for errors, .. but is very, very slow. Please! Does anyone have a trick to quickly join cross references?
And... sometimes any link... become to Red flag, why?... nothing changed, the same paragraph style in the same file.
Thank you for your help!!
You mention several issues -- you can increase the speed by temporarily disabling Preflight.
You'd probably be better off using Character Styles for a word or words (or alternatively an image) for links to hyperlinks.
You can select URLs or Cross References in the hyperlink & cross references dialogue box.
Hi Sam,
In case you do cross references to other InDesign documents:
Have all related documents always open, that would speed up InDesign.

Mike, thanks so much for responding !!
Answering your question, the version is the latest updated CC 2020 and I use MacOs (..i7, 40Gb ram)
Thanks for sharing the link,
I was surprised by the trainingonsite url with so many details. I had applied some but not all strategies.
Sadly, as you indicate in the last strategy, the book has a lot of cross-references and many books with cross-references between them, so ... I'm going to apply the other strategies and... surely go faster.
Thank you!!!!

Derek, thanks for your advice.
Yes, I disabled preflight but maybe I should better use anchor text that is more delimited instead of linking to a complicated paragraph style.
Thanks for your help!
