Turning Pages in Indesign 2020

Hi,

I am trying to create a pdf in Indesign with pages that flip and turn.

I have opened up a new document, Intent for Web, and set up multiple spreads.

I have then right click on the pages, 'page attributes' and then 'page transactions'.

This gives me all options like fade, uncover, dissolve etc but it DOESN'T give me a Turning page option.

Please help...... I am really stuck!

Am I doing it correct or is there a new way?

Thank you

Hello, you should use ID 2019 because in the 2020 release there no flash support and the turning page option is usinf flash.

FLASH IS DEAD.  Do not use Flash on the web!

If you must have a page flip effect, do it in HTML5 so it can work in the widest possible range of devices.  See link below.

The page flip effect becomes irritating for the reader after a while, but if you must have this effect, have a look at this:

Hi,

Anyone got any more solutions which can publish to desktop rather than publishing to someone else's website and that don't require subscriptions or using last year's software.

Thanks

Did you bother reading the responses here and on the other countless threads on this? Or are you just hoping that 1997 rolls around again so you'll have something to wow your audience with?

Hi, I've seen a few threads now saying page turning transitions are outdated and rely on flash which no longer exists. Can anyone recommend the best way to move between pages in a digital brochure/ magazine?

Thanks,

Kathryn

Yes, to expand on Jonathan's reply, Publish Online might be the way to go. You can do so much with interactivity in InDesign and Publish Online. Here are some examples, check them out. (This example document itself shows a simple page transition you can do with Publish Online, but not the page curl you mention--that is old style, for sure!). https://adobe.ly/2yTI8OE

I use the free access to http://issuu.com and embed the result in sites.

I am not selling or promoting this service. It works for what I need.

I am also looking for a page turn animation.  I agree it was possible with Flash. That doesn't mean the function  (animation?) is no longer design/business requirement. Via third party, I've seen very nicely contained flipbooks with easy, elegant page turns. I am disappointed that Adobe does not offer a standard animation that imitates a page turn. I know I can fly in, or swirl in, etc.,  Believe it or not, people just don't see the L/R page turn arrows on the EPUB template. What I need to meet the business requirement is a simple page turn. Any ideas/tips?

There are a number of third-party apps that apply page turning effects to PDFs, for example: https://www.paperturn.com/uk/
