Two column grid - last line being forced to bottom of text box in each column

Anyone had this happen? Two column paragraph styles, somehow it's started doing this, nothing detectable causing runaround there... causes overflow if I push the bottom of the text box up... appreciate any advice?

Ah, figured it finally - an invisible layer had something on it! And the layer options set to suppress that when layer invisible was deselected... shoulda realised! Thanks
