Type tool is really slow on Indesign 2021

Hello!

Whenever I change from  any other tools to the Type tool, it takes a good 3-4 seconds before being able to use it. 

I am using a pc windows 10.

Any advice?

So sorry to hear about this trouble. I am hopeful that the issue is fixed by now. If not, could you please confirm if this issue is related to a specific document? Where the files are being saved/ exported (Network Drive/ System HDD/ Shared Folder on System /External HDD)?
