Unable to resize frame and Undo command not working properly in InDesign 2020

Bugs, for example:

  • can drag text frame handles but frame does not resize--result is two visible text frame borders, with the text remaining unchanged/stays on original border
  • Undo command reverts back not to immediately previous action but back many previous actions, such that all work is lost within the span of the seemingly arbitrary undo (and Redo has no effect, does not counteract the Undo command)

Seems Adobe should have waited to release 2020 ............ until 2020

Hi Nick,

Thanks for reaching out. We will need to troubleshoot to identify the cause of the issue. Since you have already rolled back to the version 2019, I would recommend that whenever you are available to troubleshoot please share few details like:

  1. Operating System and its exact version.
  2. Is the issue related to a specific document?
  3.  If it's not related to a specific document, you can try resetting the preferences for InDesign by following these steps:

    For Windows

    • Close all Adobe applications.
    • Go to Locations :
    • C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Adobe
    • C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Adobe.
    •  Rename InDesign folders to InDesign.old
    • Launch InDesign from CC.

    For MAC

    • Close all adobe applications
    • Go to Locations:
    • ~/Library/Caches
    • ~/Library/Preferences
    • Rename Adobe InDesign and com.adobe.indesign to Adobe InDesign.old and com.adobe.indesign.old
    • Launch InDesign from the CC

Disclaimer: Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings and InDesign will launch with default settings. This way all your old settings will be saved in .old folders and InDesign will recreate new folders with default settings.

Regards

Rishabh
