Why does it generate a single page for me with automatic text flow?

I'm creating a brochure for a customer and his wish is to import the text herself form a word file to the Indesign Template. Now when i place the document in Indesign a single page is generated which shouldn't be. like this:

Why is that? And what do I have to change in the settings so that it only generates double pages?
