Why does it take so long to place CC Library assets?

After updating to indesign 2021 it often takes upwards of a minute to import some of my CC library assets (including simple things like vector icon packs). I get stuck on import snippet for ages. Any ideas? I've just tried resetting my preferences but it didn't help.

Hi,

Sorry to hear that. What happens when you try to import the same file using another application for e.g., photoshop, Illustrator, etc.

Could you please share logs from your machine? This would be very helpful. Here is a link to Adobe Log Collector Tool:

https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-log-collector.html

You'll get a zip file generated. Could you please send the name of it?

It will be something like "AdobeLogs_20191011_081024_xxx-win.zip"

This might help us to understand the root cause of the problem.

Thank you,

Supriya

The log file is named: AdobeLogs_20210330_104951_973-mac.zxp

On the vector icon pack I used, importing (from the library) to illustrator is near instant. Copying from illustrator into indesign takes 5 seconds. Importing (from the library) to indesign takes over a minute.

Just as a small test when I uploaded a simple shape (a quote glyph converted to outlines) to the library and placed it back in indesign there was no issue.
