HIya,

I upgraded to Lightroom 6 CC a few days ao.

I've found on my 2012 i7 Mac Mini that if you crop an image, and then turn the lights off (two presses of the L key), the photo disappears, and you have to turn the lights on again (L key again) to get the image to reappear. This doesn't correct itself until you navigate to another photo and then back again.

When using lights out mode in Lightroom CC, the entire screen including the image is darkened after I crop.

When I select lights out mode by pressing L, the screen around the image is darkened as I expect. If I then crop the image, everything is darkened - image plus surrounding area.

When for instance working in "Lights Dim" mode and cropping an image, after finishing the crop (hitting R), the photo will dim. Going to the next image and back solves this, as does making any kind of other adjustment.

100% repeatable, happens also after restarting LR (didn't try reboot).

I didn't see this bug report and filed the same one. I did find this morning that at least on my system, this can be fixed by turning off the graphics processor usage. It appears to be a problem only while the graphics processor is being used.

Bug i newest Lightroom CC:
Crop a photo. While in crop, use Lights Off. Press enter to commit to the crop. Now you have an all grey or black screen.
If you turn Light On, the pic is there, but turn Lights Off, and it will disappear again.

I found a quite annoying bug in Lightroom CC when using the lights-out view modes.

- Select an image in the develop module.
- With the L-key select one of the lights-out modes, dimmed or all black background.
- Select the crop tool (R), crop the image and press ENTER to confirm.
- Bug: Instead of showing the cropped image, the screen goes all grey/black.
- You have to switch to an other image, zoom in or change some of the develop settings to see the image again.

Can anyone replicate this issue?

I always prefer to crop my images using a neutral background, so it is quite annoying that I can’t see the result immediately.

I am running Lightroom version: CC 2015.0.1 on Mac OS 10.9

Try turning off the graphics acceleration as I mention above. While it's still a bug, at least it works with that change.

When I press: L - Y - Y —an image becomes dark, as it was covered by a dark layer.

The same problem with: L - L - Y - Y and with L - \ - \

Here's an example of what I get:

Lightroom - When you have lights off and select crop, as soon as you apply it the whole screen goes black and you have to move to the next photo and back to see the adjusted image.

In Lightroom I changed my lights out to 50% and started working on a photo. When I got into the crop tool and applied a crop, the lights of the photo also dimmed to 50%. The photo is now linked to the interface with the lights out.

Alexander, I think this is a different problem you are seeing. This thread is about the Crop tool. I can duplicate what you are seeing and have filed a bug.

I have been using the LR6 trial version for over 2 weeks flawlessly, which was updated automatically during that period to the latest version. I am having L-Y-Y issue as above. Resolves as below but obviously this issue has NOT been sorted in the latest update.

Ok. Just to confirm, is your video driver up-to-date? Determine what video card you have and go *directly to the manufacturers website (nVidia or ATI/AMD)* and download the latest driver.

Just doing Windows Update won't give you the latest and greatest drivers. You must go directly to your card manufacturers website to check for driver updates.

Yes, everything is up to date. During that period, since the "bug" was introduced there were several different driver, lightroom updates and other changes in the system including whole system change to windows 10 (with clean driver installs etc.) nothing helped..
