P: Crashing on every exit.

Updated to Classic.  It crashes each  time I close, whether asking to test integrity and optimize and save when exiting, or even when asking to 'skip' these steps and close.  Confidence is low that changes won't be lost, so can't really use this upgrade until this is fixed.  Crash reports sent each time.  Win7Pro SP1, 64bit, GPU acc is off.  No problems with the last 2015.12 release.  I need the latest (Classic) to support a new camera. Thanks.

Hi Bill,

We are aware of this crash and this may be due to a bad gpu driver installation.
Can you please follow below link to do a "clean & install" of your graphics driver?

Also can you please post your system configuration along with "dxdiag'" report of your system ?
1- From Start menu open run
2- type dxdiag and press enter
3- save all the information into a text file by clicking save all information and share it with us

Let me know if above step help to resolve the crash issue?

I've just updated the Nvidia driver, rebooted, opened LR Classic, and closed asking for  test and optimize when saving to my backup location.  Crashed again.  Crash report sent (these were all on the b.young100@gmail.com email, different from my Adobe login).  Note in my original report that I said GPU acceleration was OFF, so I'm not surprised that there was no change to this behaviour.  Regardless, dxdiag file attached.  Hmmm, actually doesn't seem to be a way to attached the text file, so I've just copied the whole thing below

I have reset preferences, disabled all plugins, created a new catalog with only a few images, and created a new catalog in a new user account.  All crash on exit, and the last one even without trying to save a copy or optimize/check integrity.  If I do ask for a backup, one does seem to be created, but how can I possibly trust the software when it keeps generating a crash report on every exit.  Suggestions welcome.  I've been using LR since it came out, but after suffering through all the previous issues this may be the killer.

Sorry for the late Reply, Bill. We have updated the help page. We have identified that "clean and install" of Nvidia driver is resolving this crash. Can you please give it a try ?

Kanheiya, as per your previous instruction, the Nvidia driver update was indeed a clean install direct from their web site.  This did not resolve the problem.  Regardless, as noted previously, this is disabled.  Why would it be causing a problem if disabled?

Vic, if you are referring to the link to force Open GL( https://adobe.ly/2yC7FLq ), this leads to a page with a graphic on it but no downloadable config.lua file.  I've tried Chrome, FF and IE with the same result.  If not this, then I don't know what you are referring to by the "tech note linked above".  What link?  Thanks.

OK, just realized there was a download icon on the screen, so downloaded the config.lua and copied to the LR folder identified.  Relaunched, and still crashes on exit.

I have had the same issues as Bill. I did a clean install of the latest driver for my NVIDIA Quadro 600 graphics card, and after working for a few hours in LR Classic with no problems, I closed it and got the usual 'LR has crashed' window. I did send a report. I am using Windows 7 and have 16gb RAM. I have no problems with Lightroom CC 2015 and can go back to that, but I have already spent a lot of time in LR Classic CC and this work may not be shown in CC 2015.

Hi Kanheiya, I have sent a comment after Bill's as I have the same problem. If I continue to use LR Classic and it only crashes on exit and when at the 'Optimizing catalog' stage during a back-up process, will there have been a backup done? You say I won't lose changes made, but are my backups done if it crashes at the optimizing stage?

All.  Old test cat  created with 7.0 crashes after update to 7.1 .  Also, I've created a new cat in 7.1, imported a few images, and guess what, it crashes too.
