Jan,

I checked the crash report log and don't find any crash reports under the email with which you've registered at this forum.

Did you submit crash reports? Possibly under a different email? It is possible you are crashing on the Apple side of things. Do you get an type of error message?

Hi Rikk,

I don't thing LR get's the chance to write a crash report. As the screen suddenly goes black, and the iMac reboots.
Interestingly, the first 2,5k pictures are counted up quite quickly in LR, then it gets slower and slower, until the counter goes up every 10 Minutes or so. then the reboot happens.

Thanks, Jan

It would be interesting to watch Activity Monitor for Memory Usage and GPU percentage up until the point of reboot.  If the memory tends to climb to the same point each time before the reboot occurs there could be a hardware issue that we are revealing.  Any chance you could post a screen grab of activity monitor when it is getting close?

Hi Rikk,

During the runs where it was constantly rebooting, LR was showing as unresponsive most of the time at that point. And system was very slow. Did not get a chance to look at the System activity...

But, I just started LR and disabled Sync. It ran indexing and face recognition on a couple of pictures.
Once LR was not doing anything anymore I restarted the sync. It is now counting down images to be synced from 5k.... (at 4.2k right now)
Memory use is at 8GB and CPU around 180%

Seems it is behaving better now. Maybe it has something todo with the two processes? Indexing, face detection and syncing?

I did not happen on same setup before Mojave though...

Thanks, Jan

It did finish the sync, count went up and down during the process, so I guess it did all 10k. I closed LR and restarted, and it seems to start the sync again?

During the Sync memory use went up to 17GB but no system lock up or unresponsiveness.

But is the sync going to go through everything every time I start? I did not see this behavior before...

Thanks, Jan

It might be worth running a Memory Test before we troubleshoot further.

Hi Rikk,

Did the Hardware test "No issues found" Reference Code: ADP000

The new run after the restart, made the system very slow again...

Took 5 minutes to force close LR, to do the HW test.RackMultipart20181022115232kpt-25094236-c0e1-4adb-bc87-07a18de8d03b-368247506.png

For some Mojave users, a clean install is curing their slowness issues:

Close Lightroom
Restart the computer
Use the Adobe Creative Cloud App to uninstall Lightroom Classic CC
Restart the computer
Install Lightroom Classic CC via the Creative Cloud App without launching any other programs.
Restart the computer
Launch Lightroom
Wait 5 minutes

Have you attempted this?

Hi Rikk,

I reinstalled as suggested, and it seems to have done the trick. So far I can use LR normally again 🙂

Thanks, Jan
