Update 10/16/2023 - Midday - Central Time (US)

The issue has been traced to a server issue on our end and is not a failure of the Lightroom Classic update itself.  This issue has been rectified.

This is not solved. I did the fresh reinstall of Lightroom yesterday and then it worked on OSX. Now this morning I tried to run it again, and this time it failed the same way as befpre. I checked in the Console app to see the logs and I again see "Namespace DYLD, Code 1 Library missing".

good morning everyone, I understand that the problem is faced by many users. Installing version 13.0 or 13.01 is impossible, even 13.0 gives me the same error. Should I uninstall all of Adobe Creative or even format my Mac?

I fail to see how an Adobe Server issue would affect what happens with a local version of LR Classic.

By NYNC

Issue was a faulty/incomplete install over the web due to faulty Adobe server. And Adobe direction as to remediate as follows (way back on first page of reply's)

There is no additional update (i.e., waiting for 13.0.2) that is necessary to correct this issue.

Clean Lightroom Install Procedure
Close Lightroom
Restart the computer
Use the Adobe Creative Cloud App to uninstall Lightroom
Restart the computer
Install Lightroom via the Creative Cloud App without launching any other programs.
Restart the computer
Launch Lightroom
Wait 5 minutes

If you've attempted the reinstall previously, you should follow this instruction set again.

Thank you for your patience!

Note that last step of waiting 5 minutes, that is because, at least on a MAC the LrC v13.0.1 install is incomplete first go around, and some additional code gets installed second time around, that takes about 5 minutes.

Although, that might not be the entire problem

P.S. their is no v13.2, nor a v13.0.2, just the upgrade v13.0, and one bug fix v13.0.1, no second bug fix v13.0.2, and certainly no update v13.2 (v13.1 would come out anyhow before v13.2) , I assume you typed in a typo, and meant v13.0.2, but nope, no bug fix to the bug fix just yet. read that  version statement wrong, not in you reply, perhaps another members reply.

But yep, from all the various problems, Adobe defiantly needs v13.02.

@NYNC, "As of today, 10/17/23, LR Classic 13.0.1 for Windows 11 X64 is still crashing."

You're running Windows but posted in a thread about a Mac-specific problem, and your symptoms are much different than those described here. Please start a new thread describing your issues, which indeed sound related to the GPU.

After deinstallation, restart Mac, redownload by creativecloud, installation, restart Mac, starting LrC 13.01, half a minute beachball, question if catalog 13 oder 12: --> cat.13, beachball for another half a minute, and LrC13.01 is running fine

(Mac OS 13.6.)

Good luck!

A couple of links.

First up to completly remove the Adobe Creative Cloud applications (but apparently not the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App):

https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

Second to remove the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop app:

Question! I can't even get past the first 10 seconds after I open Lightroom since the update to 13. My MacBook is totally updated as well. It crashes the second after it loads and opens up the Library...Any suggestions? Not good timing at all for this as I have a photo session that must be edited. Thank you for any suggestions!

Similar issues for me too. Catalog also 'corrupts' in some sessions. Folders show photo count but no photos show in the develop module and then randomly photo count on photos reset to zero. It is a complete mess. Based on this discussion I will revert to v12.

I have reinstalled Lightroom twice and still issues persist with catalog not showing photos in some folders. Rikk you thanked us for our patience - that has run out now. This is creating real stress.

I simply went back to version 13.0 That fixed the issue for me. I'll wait
until 13.0.2 come out before I try upgrading again.

I have done the complete reinstall as suggested, including all the restarts and waiting 5 minutes. I have reimported the lost files and have been working on one folder. I have used DeNoise and this has not led to a new DNG file but instead has resulted in message 'no photos in selected folder' - 1306 photos just disappeared from the view ( the number in the folder still currently shows in left hand panel). 13.1 seems to just randomly corrupt the catalogue.

You will eventually be asked if you want to uninstall the installed version. Should I say yes or no?

Well, wether you have 13.0.0 or 13.0.1 does probably not matter at all. What upsets me mire is that it seems that the problem is not solved at all and we do not hear of Adobe people any more. Further there is no explanation on the official adobe site that this is a known problem. Kniwn oroblems are uniquely some ridiculous peanuts. I cannot understand that ignorance.

Here we get the impression that the v13.0.0 workes fine. But this is wrong: It does NOT work (crash on launch). I am back with 12.x. This workes as before. I will wait fir next release. All other activities are much to dangerous considering my 100'000 images. I can not risk being out of work for a few days. I do even. ot think of all the Plugins.

How do I unfollow this thread? For some reason I started getting emails when people post here, and I can not see where in the thread I am following.

The email has an unsubscribe option, but I dont want to remove all Adobe emails, just this thread.

Fortunately the crash problem seems to have solved itself. After a restart of the laptop and half an hour slow functioning of lightroom the program seems to be stable again. It was probably overeating itself to get the update really finished at database level. Although it crashed, it returned without loss of history. Clearly a significant update from version 12 to 13.

Case closed in my view.

Cheers,

Louis
