After updating LR today from the Cloud app on my PC it now fails with an error every time I open it. I have tried updating graphic card drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled LR itself but the problem persists. Was working fine yesterday. It is now unusable as the error occurs on starting up the software. Have sent crash reports via the error popup. Urgent help requested!

Same issue. Am running two PCs with latest version of Windows 10. LRc crashes and closes after updating to yesterday's v11.3 and can't afford to be shut down today. How can I revert to previous version so I can resume work?

You could try updating to the most recent Nvidia Studio driver for your graphics card:

https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/187302/en-us

If that doesn't help, many people have been reporting crashes with 11.3 on Windows, and Adobe recommends rolling back to 11.2:

I experienced the same crash on startup with 11.3.  After 3 hours of troubleshooting, resetting prefs, rebooting, reinstalling, I found that the issue is associated with my catalog. If I start 11.3 with a new catalog, it works fine. Switch back to my main catalog, it crashes. I submitted several crash logs with the same email used on this forum. I'm now running 11.2 until a fix rolls out.

After today's update to version 11.3 Lightroom Classic will no longer startup.

I've already tried the following:

  1. Updated NVIDIA drivers to latest version from the Nvidia website
  2. Updated Intel drivers to latest version from Intel website
  3. Reset lightrooms settings to the default, using the SHIFT+ALT shortcut while launching Lightroom

I am currently blocked in my workflow and no longer able to import new images into lightroom for processing.

My machine is on Windows 11, Evaluation Copy Build 22593.ni_release 220402-1100

Dell Inc. XPS 15 9570

Intel Core i7-8750H CPU @ 2.20Ghz

A number of people have reported LR 11.3 crashing on startup on Windows:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-bugs/p-crash-11-3-launch-open-catalog-faulting-modu...

Adobe is investigating and recommends rolling back to 11.2 in the meantime:

I have the same issue.  I had someone from Adobe support try and assist and it really just made thinbgs worse.  Luckily, I had my catalog backed up on 4/2/2022...and I've only lost a few days of cataloging....but what a real pain.

Also, I have my opions set to not auto update, but the application updated from 11.2 to 11.3 without me explicitly giving permission.

Updating status to Acknowledged

The team has investigated the crash and will be reaching out to a few of you privately for more information.

Workaround, it is recommended that, if you encounter this crash scenario, you revert to 11.2 via the Adobe Creative Cloud Application.

In the meanwhile, make sure your email used on this forum is the email you are using when submitting the Crash Report.

Thanks for your patience.

The same happened with my instalation. The first 3 or 4 times I send the crash report after I try to update the graphic card still had the same crash but did not ask anymore to send report, maybe because I had already clicked to send automatic. I already uninstall and install it. I just not try do downgrade;

This morning Lightroom Classic stopped working - I immediately get an error when I try to launch it. After trying a few times with the same result, I received a link from Adobe to a "solution". The solution was to update my Nvidia drivers & then turn off the "Use Graphics Processor" option. I updated my drivers to the latest version (30.0.15.1215), but Lightroom Classic still errors out when I try to launch it. There's no way I can change the "Use Graphics Processor" option, because I can't get into Lightroom to do that.

I'm running Windows 10 (64bit) & am using a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Super graphics card.

The last update (yesterday I think, maybe day before) has rendered Lightoom non-op for me.  When I first opened Lightroom post update it just hung up and I had to force it to close.  Now when I open it I get the spinning circle then it immediately crashes.  Happens every time.  Really stinks.  My computer info:

So LrC did not close down properly, hence the lock file did not get deleted, as such LrC will not open the catalog. See:

https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/lightroom-error-catalog-cannot-be-opened-lrcat-lock.htm...

That might get you going again, but it does not answer why LrC hung.
